| Learning about tools and wood should be a part of everyone's childhood. This is fundamental stuff but also fun stuff. Kids will learn about wood, how it grows and goes from tree to lumber. They’ll learn how to measure carefully and mark out precisely and use hand tools such as spokeshaves, hand planes and saws to shape and smooth wood. They'll also learn the value of patience and planning as they build either a small bench or box. Some summer class skills stay with you forever. Let your child discover the joys of building this summer. |

Brendan Alvistur is our first Resident Mastery Student who will be graduating June 2008. Born and raised in Chico CA, school and then love took him to Galway, Ireland. A passion for woodworking developed while he was in Ireland and it is from there that he travelled to join us here at the Studio.
