Nothing matches the beautiful sound of a guitar. Hand building your own instrument is a mixture of craft and art unsurpassed in woodworking. There is no difficult joinery involved. Building one can be managed in simple logical steps as you evaluate wood for its musical potential, learn to shape wood to its best advantage, get assembly tips and learn how to bend the wood to make those beautifully curved sides. Students must possess hand tool skills, particularly sharpening in order to take this course, which runs for a total of six weekends over three months time. Expect to spend some time on this project in your home shop between those weekends. Make the commitment to excellence that this class requires and you’ll be proud every time you sit down to play your guitar. |
