This workshop is for students who are interested in moving beyond the conventional idea of the "box" to venture into new territory. The focus is on integrating the use of color, texture and pattern into the process of designing and building solid wood boxes and chests. Students will be introduced to the techniques of joining and shaping to create containers that have a sculptural feel. Carving, pattern burning and color application are a few of the techniques that will be demonstrated. Students should plan on a week of exciting creativity that promotes the idea of working freely to make discoveries. |
