Plain sawn stock moves more than quartersawn stock. Usually about twice as much. What this means when you're edge laminating is that you have to glue like edges together. Glue plain sawn edges to plain sawn edges and quartersawn to quartersawn. Don't laminate a plain sawn edge with a quartersawn edge because over time you'll feel some creep in the joint as the two boards move at two different rates. In some boards you can get both kinds of grain so check carefully before jointing and gluing.
