An intensive class on building the Nicholson Joiners Work Bench.
This is the classic sturdy English workbench. It’s simple engineering, straight forward construction and rugged materials makes it a great bench for getting started right away on any hand tool project from architectural millwork, doors, windows to furniture and cabinets. The design is from the 1812 publication “Mechanics Exercises“ by Peter Nicholson. It is the original source for the workbenches at Williamsburg, VA and Fort Vancouver, WA. You will also learn to make and use various sticking boards, bench hooks and other appliances along with iron holdfasts to complete your own projects using hand tools.
