Transform your woodworking by becoming a part of the Mastery tradition. Our Mastery Programs will teach you tradition based furniture making techniques while you develop your own signature design style. You will build up to nine pieces during the course of study. Learn to build furniture of the highest quality in a program designed to suit your own specific needs. The Mastery Program offers intensive study in fine furniture making, designed for self-directed motivated students working out of their own shops in the Portland, Oregon area. Meeting weekly at the Studio, this program runs for two years with three terms each in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The Distance Mastery Program is specially designed for those students who live outside the region or who cannot make a weekly meeting. Distance students meet for seven seminars and weekend concentrations over the course of the two years. Phone meetings and email correspondence is also required. The Resident Mastery Program offers an intensive nine month course of study at the Studio. Students are given bench space for the three terms of work with the Studio open from 9AM to 8PM Monday through Friday. Students will have two to four lectures per week and work closely with an instructor at the bench practicing skills, building their nine Design projects and working further on smaller Studio projects. Completion of the Mastery Program term study is generally followed by an exhibition of Graduates' signature pieces at a relevant location in the Portland area. |
